Jesse Nilsson was active in the dramatic arts from a young age, and was no stranger to Canadian TV. He received his dramatic education at Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto, Canada. Tragically, Jesse Nilsson passed away in the age of 25 in Toronto on April 26, 2003, due to heart failure. He had been suffering from pneumonia for the two weeks prior to his death but was on the road to recovery.
Co-executive producer Adam Haight said that they chose Mr. Nilsson for the role because of his looks and youth.
We were looking for a character that was 20-30. Mr. Haight said."We looked at a number of guys and we cast Jesse in the last throes before production began. There was something very handsome and very youthful about him, so we jumped on him. Jesse just seemed to fit that role kind of well."
